Folder Duplication Feature to the Rescue

Software developer Chris Hammond got to test out the storage folder duplication feature of Windows Home Server when a drive in the server decided it was time to go to hard drive heaven.

Hearing what sounded like a dog growling in my office, upon investigation turned out to be the noise of the dying hard drive.

After trying to repair the drive for 2 days by swapping parts (without success) Chris decided to just tell WHS to “remove” the missing drive from the pool.

By the following morning all the data was again intact and re-distributed – Just one reason to buy a Windows Home Server, and as Chris says:
