Philip,
does the Microsoft Windows Home Server software (Power Pack 1) have the capability to keep the disk drives “spun down”/turned off during the period of time OUTSIDE of the backup window? If not, how hard would it to be write a script or something like that to implement such a power management policy.
I have WHS system that I built using a Tyan barebones server with an AMD based motherboard. I am not certain if the HDD controller on the motherboard supports any particular power saving features but I will do some more research to find out.
