Lenovo's IdeaCentre D400 Reviewed by PCMag

PCMag.com has a review of the Lenovo IdeaCentre D400 Home Server.

Reviewer Mario Morejon looks at the design of Lenovo’s good looking server hardware and tests the setup and performance of the unit as well as taking a look at its features.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre D400 is a basic implementation of WHS. The low power processor, however, might prove to be a double-edged sword for a home server. Backing up one or two laptops and copying files to the NAS might be okay, as the performance test shows. But managing multiple streaming connections can bring the Lenovo Home Server to a crawl. For small businesses that only need a NAS for backup and a file server, the Lenovo is more than adequate, and it will save you money on your electric bill. Power storage users look elsewhere.
