Add-In: DA Document Manager 2010 Release 2 v3.1.105
The add-in DA Document Manager 2010 – Windows Home Server Edition has been updated.
Release 2, v3.1.105 includes the following changes (and there are lots):
Enhancement: Added "None" option to the Date Type field in the Search Filter
Enhancement: Added a single item print button to the search results ribbon
Enhancement: Added Check all and Uncheck all to PDF Import Popup
Enhancement: Added History Folder on Server that will now back up any modified files

Fix: When categories are created by tabbing out of the category fields they are now created if the do not exist
Fix: When clicking Search Reset and the exclusive Subcategory List from the previous Category no longer displays
Fix: When creating a Shared subcategory – they no longer always save as exclusive subcategories
Fix: When deleting a search results item being previewed using "X" no longer produces the file does not exist error
Fix: When dragging a file with a password into the Inbox, if we do not enter the password at that time, show the lock icon
Fix: When removing a password the "!" icon is refreshed and the Lock icon no longer displays in the Search Results
Fix: When renaming a Category the Search Field now refreshes
Fix: When using Archive Recovery with a password protected file, the user is now prompted for the password

I am currently testing this product. There appear to be lots of holes or perhaps I should say room for improvement to the point of this not being overly ready for prime time.
One disappointing fact is the speed, or rather lack of speed of support response by email.
Still no response.
Finally here is the response to my question “How does one import documents into the archive and into a specific category?”
Importing by category using the Workspace:
1. Select your files to import using the “Import to Workspace” button
2. Click the Uncheck All button to uncheck any documents in your workspace inbox
3. Check the first document that you want to save
4. Select or create a category and/or subcategory for the documents that you want to import with the specific category
5. Fill out the rest of the form and save the first file using the “Save &Keep Form Info” button
6. After it is saved, check the next item that you want to save using this category use the “Save &Keep Form Info” button
We are developing a new batch import wizard that will facilitate this process by allowing you to select folders and multiple files and assign their category/subcategory/date and other form information to speed up this process. It will be available in the next major release.
Until batch processing is a feature I cannot recommend this program for those of us who have a myriad of documents waiting to be archived. I would also warn those who would be planning to use this program for small businesses purposes that you should consult with an IT person since your archive needs to be planned out and well organized before taking the plunge and adding documents. I look forward to the next version that includes the batch processing feature.
