You know what? Since Microsoft can’t see the stupidity of removing DriveEntender, I have NO interest in “improving” anything related to Vail. I hope it dies faster than Bob.

I understand you, but you have to think this is 2011 and the hard-drive today is bigger (even more bigger tomorrow) and RAID is more easy to handle today. I really don’t understand the use of this on modern hard drives.

      • Marc Brooks says:

Sure, if you’re building a new machine adding new big _similar or identical_ drives is “easy”, but one of the huge values of WHS machines is the ability to add a new drive of ANY size and have the space just get used.

If we go backwards to where we have to have RAID5 (or worse) with identical(ish) drives, why buy a WHS at all? Just buy a Drobo.

They are only asking for feedback so that they have “plausable deniability”. They won’t read it and they definitely won’t do anything about the comments. Isn’t Connect THE PLACE to provide feedback??? MS must have lost their login credentials on that site because they sure aren’t responding to any feedback that they are getting there.
