I am very happy with my HP DataVault X510 (similar to EX495) even though I have a Mac centric household (6 Macs, 1 PC). Backup works great (time machine). I cannot comment on restoring though (luckily). Media collection is not very accurate and I disabled it, moving the media files manually over to the DataVault. All the shares and folders show up in my Mac Finder and I started to manage my files through the Mac Finder rather than through the HP Console. Overall the experience is excellent. Only little disappointment so far: I cannot connect to the DataVault remotely. But this seems to be more of a problem of my router than the Mac's.
