Attempting to install WHS using your USB thumbdrive method.I too was confused to which bay I would put my SATA wd 1tb green drive. I chose the top one. Install commenced, but didnt think the normal sata drivers were being used. I saw the Marvel raid pop up during bios bootup. WHS started to install, but I always get the WHS setup error "hard drive capable of hosting windows home Server was not found. Would you like to load additional storage drivers?" This is were I am going nuts. I have tried all kinds of drivers from every website imaginable. Not sure what they are wanting. Could it be the Marvel raid controller needs to be turned off somehow? Help?

Hi Needing some help with WHS install on this machine. isPermaLink="false">http://mswhs.wordpress.com/?p=5690#comment-11503

Space in the case was pretty tight, and I am not sure a mini-itx board would fit in (@17 x 17cm for mini-ITX, the NAS-7800 was around 14cm wide and filled the entire width of the case). Also, you won't have anywhere for the boards connectors to go as there isn't a standard ATX size hole in the rear of the case.As I look at it though, the major cost of the NSD-7800 is the NAS-7800 board, so if you are going to junk the board you might and get hold of a nice mini-ITX server case for your mini-ITX board; that way you know it will fit, and you save some money.I no longer have the NSD-7800, so I cant answer the SMART question I am afraid; it wasn't something I checked for I am afraid.

Space in the case was pretty tight, and I am not sure a mini-itx board would fit in (@17 x 17cm for mini-ITX, the NAS-7800 was around 14cm wide and filled the entire width of the case). 1) Do you think you could crowbar in an normal Mini-ITX motherboard?
2) Does the onboard SATA controller give you SMART info?

Interesting review, Steve. I liked the look of these when VIA first announced them, but I wasn’t sold on the hardwired CPU. A couple of questions:<br
