I have been using a defragmentation program on my WHS, however, Perfect disk has a product that prehaps will give me greater piece od mind in maintaining my server. If only Perfect disk will completely element the WHS fragmentation, this is sufficient reason to own this product.Rufus Roper

I use WHS and I know how importantant it is to keep it uncluttered. One of the features of PerfectDisk that I look most forward to is Maximizing the Streaming Media Performance as this will be key to our media enjoyment experience! If the WHS is running well, I will be able to enjoy my spare time with my family rather than trying to tweek the server to keep the media flowing!

I am in the process of building a new house and the WHS will be central to our media experience there. Actually its hard to just pick one feature to comment on. If I don't get one here, it is a utility that I will be purchasing soon.

I like the ability to schedule the defrag and especially the ability to defrag during idle times. Unlike typical defraggers, PerfectDisk 10 for Windows Home Server completely defrags your virtual drives (all files and metadata) and consolidates free space in just one pass – no matter how large or fragmented the system. With revolutionary minimal-free-space requirement, you can defrag an entire drive with as little as 1% free space.

With a family of all girls. 9 computers running Windows 7 they are always on and off our server i must defrag almost every other day which takes alot of time , this automated defragmentation would give me more time to spend with them

this looks to be my favorite feature, have you ever whatched windows 7 multipass go and go and go on for ever.

Single-pass Defrag<br

I have spent the last weekend reloading my WHS due a data corruption issue that started a month back and just got worse. I have read many posts over the years about defraging but never took the time to look into a program for the WHS. I wish I had now while trying to create 2 years of backups that were being stored on my HP server.

Ha, it’s funny that this is being discussed now along with the give away. I have five systems on line and currently building another one. I am into consolidating resources and automation. PerfectDisk 10 is the perfect solution to my problem of bouncing back and forth from computer to computer daily. It is really rewarding to sit back and watch automation happen and PerfectDisk will surely be the iceing on my cake!!!! Weekly photos are uploaded even purchasing receipts are scanned to my Home server. With such amount of information been uploaded and downloaded to and from my server, defragmentation is key for performance (in top of the Memory upgrade my Server have). I purchase my license of Perfect Disk 2008 and is helping me a lot.Upgrading my Perfect Disk is - for sure - not a choice for me, is a Must.

I’m very depending on my WHS, all of my PCs at home are backed by my WHS; my Xbox, WII and PS3 interact with the server on a Daily basis for Music, pictures and video. Whether or not I win, my plan is to evaluate, and hopefully be able to recommend this product to friends and family.I am currently creating a home server for myself for a couple of reasons. First to see if I can get the same stats as an off the shelf home server, and second to see what the price difference is comparatively. One of the coolest features that I found in reading through the website is;"PerfectDisk 10 for Windows Home Server's patented SMARTPlacement feature is the most sophisticated defragging solution available. It identifies the files you use most and organizes them according to your unique usage patterns. This comprehensive process yields faster subsequent defrag passes, quicker boot times, slower rates of fragmentation, reduced resource consumption and improved Windows Home Server performance."In a world that seems to only breed inefficiency, this will truly be the saving grace for not only the pros, but us "Joes" as well!

Mr. Churchill,

Thank you in advance for the opportunity to win PerfectDisk 10! The reason is …. When you create or resize Time Machine disk, it looks for contiguous freespace on the WHS. I have a mixed PC and MAC home and am using the HP WHS as a Time Machine also. I just bought EX495 and went through this issue of Time Machine and contiguous FREESPACE and had to Factory Reset the WHS with the help from Hp support already once. IF I get this product I will be resizing it to 1TB otherwise I will continue with my current 555GB Time Machine. Either WHS removes that FREESPACE constraint or you will need this kind of product to get that freespace. Now… can I get a free copy PerfectDisk 10 plllleeeaasseee!

I would like the feature FREESPACE CONSOLIDATION offered this product (I dont think there is any other product that offers this) which particularly handy and useful when comes to MAC backups. Most people who use WHS will find there are certain files they use alot, and then there is the rest. This results in net speed increase on your WHS.I would like a copy because speed is king! Anything to keep the family from complaining!

SmartPLacement – This is the best feature! When streaming videos to my TV, fragmentation really hurts performance, and PerfectDisk allow one to have a significantly better experience streaming videos.

The biggest benefit PerfectDisk provides is to maximize streaming media performance. It's intuitive and enjoyable to use.Functionally, I love being able to tell it to defrag system files upon boot. I love being able to have this control over everything, and to be able to optimize system files that would normally be in use after I've gotten to the interface.

I love the PerfectDisk interface, the integration into the Home Server console, as well as the easy way it displays my hard drive fragmentation. I’ve installed several WHS servers at small client sites, but none of them have a defrag solution. I’d love to get a copy of PerfectDisk 10 to play with on my own server, so I can gain experience and potentially recommend it to all my clients.

Eliminating fragmentation on the WHS machine as well as the connected PCs is key in improving performance of backups, antivirus scans and just about everything else. My main complaint with them was that they weren't really designed for WHS and therefore didn't integrate well into the WHS consoleTherefore the biggest feature I'm looking forward to is:

Delays and artifacts can really ruin the Spongebob Squarepants experience. :)Thanks.

PerfectDisk 10 for WHS will (among many other features) maximize streaming media performance.

Having a 5 year old at home, I can tell you that fast streaming media performance is needed when going from the WHS box to a WMC extender (such as an Xbox).
