I try and turn it off when I'm not using it, but it's not easy for other members of my household to do and annoying to have to do everytime I want to use a PC. I really hope the wake on LAN works....

I’m going to give this a try as I’m sure my server is caning my electricity bill when running 24x7x365. Thanks.

When you say: “As you can see from my settings I have chosen to shut the server down, solely because each of the machines when turned on will turn the server on via WOL (wake-on-LAN) which must be setup in the BIOS first in order to work.”, do you mean that WOL must be set up in the WHS BIOS and, if so, how do you do that on a ‘headless’ machine?<br

Besides the ungrammatical posture of the review and the run-on sentences, it is boring and contradictory. In a few words, it's an attempt by an amateur. I don't blame the author, but, rather, the site's master, who should proofread contributions and make the necessary corrections. WHS enthusiasts need sites such as this, but this kind of presentation will have them racing elsewhere.

I am unimpressed with the content of this article.
