I think the Atom is the best choice for an “always on” home server due to power and heat issues. However, I would consider the Atom 330 over this one. Atom 330 offers dual core and regular ddr2 ram. The Atom 330 does have gig lan. Yes, only two sata ports, but go with two 1.5 tb drives and its a decent server. Expand via USB ports or run two servers. Only 1 SO-DIMM slot and 2 SATA ports makes it far from ideal. IMHO the best Mini-ITX board for WHS is the VIA SN18000G with 2 DIMM slots and 4 SATA ports.

A shame about it only having 2 SATA ports, but I guess that can be expanded with a PCI add-in card. And the N270 is a 32 bit processor, so it proberly won’t run Home Server v2, when it is released.
