If you also plan on doing this best choose fanless and get a decent case and powersupply (personally I love Antec for both. The small fan on my Motherboard (VIA PC2500) is very noisy. Other then that it runs fine. WD Greenpoint hdd units are very quiet, even during extensive read / write operations I’ve also built one some time ago based on VIA C7 Motherboard.
