Lead Developer Shares WHS Customization

Chris Gray, lead developer for Windows Home Server at Microsoft talks about centralizing television and music onto Windows Home Server using Media Center. Integrating lights and power outlets and harnessing the power of the Web are also discussed. As Chris says:

I would also like to link to a real-time weather application so that if it was going to rain, for example, then the lawn sprinklers wouldn’t turn on.

    Lots of ideas on home automation via WHS… but we need more details about how to do it. I’d be happy with instrumenting the house for starters… outside temp, inside temp of each room, and what the aircon system is up to. We should start a separate forum thread just on this topic.
