I think Dave is on your side here. It’s Jason and others who are jumping at the chance to bash anything MSFT-related no matter what relevance it has. I’m not sure exactly sure what they’re promoting. I believe those involved in the Linux community would not want this kind of people representing them.

I find these comments so amusing. If this were an open-source product, you would hail about how extensible it is, how anyone can write an add-in or contribute their own code, etc. etc.

But no, for a Microsoft product, the ability for anyone to create add-is is just “proof” that it’s not ready for the mainstream, because all these third-party (read: have nothing to do with Microsoft) add-ins are all betas.

To say nothing of how everything currently available from Google is still considered “beta,” or on the oposite end of the spectrum, how anything from Apple is completely closed-off.

Ahhh, hypocracy.
