It sounds like I have to have the iTunes media on a PC first before the WHS will get it for the iTunes Server. Isn’t that redundant? I just want to have all music and movies on my WHS, ripping to it and streaming from it. Is that possible?

No it is only a recommendation. I had 3x 320GB drives in my machine, then bought 2x 500GB. So my system drive is the 320GB and the other 2 the 500GB. When I reinstall a year down the line I shall just make 1 of the 500GB the sytem drive instead.

The author of the WHS Unleashed book recommends making your largest hard drive the primary or system drive. This seems to be telling me that as I add more drives to the system they can only be 500GB. If I want to add a 1TB drive, and then later the 1.5TB drive, I’ll need to reconfigure the system and restore the OS each time a drive is added.

Is that really true?
