US Stock of Windows Home Server

Out of the two biggest computer part suppliers in the US only newegg.com has stock of Windows Home Server. Priced at $189.99 and a 3 day shipping service at $4.99, Americans can finally get a copy of Home Server.

Newegg

As one of the customer reviews stated:

“Having beta tested this program, I was one of the few(?) who got mine as soon as Newegg got it…”

Buy

Unfortunately the other top US supplier Buy.com is still showing Home Server as being temporally sold out. But when in stock their pricing is cheaper at $170.99 plus free delivery.

Cheaper than both newegg and Buy is California based eWiz.com, where $163.77 will get you a copy.

  1. TheJudge says:

Ordered mine at Newegg.com on Friday, 10/5/07 a day after it came out. It arrives tomorrow, so I’ll be doing a fresh install this weekend.

  2. Hi TheJudge,
Let us know how it goes.

  3. I ordered mine at noon Monday, DHL arrived noon Tuesday, installed it Tuesday night, happy person Wednesday!

Got it from http://www.komplett.ie – not cheap @ EUR192 inc DHl next-day and VAT, but I had to have it.

  4. Hi Rory Donnelly,
Glad you got it installed, another happy person!

  5. TheJudge says:

Mine arrived today here in Ohio, USA. Got some data to move off first so I can do a full clean install. Get around to it this weekend…

  6. Fieldhouse says:

I’m in the same boat as TheJudge. Moving a couple TB of data off before pulling the trigger. The product may be fully baked, but I’m not taking any chances with the install.

I actually had a copy on order from buy.com for a couple weeks. As soon as it came available at newegg I ordered a copy and cancelled my buy.com order. Saving $25 is not worth failed backups for another couple weeks and that’s what I’m dealing with on RC. We’ll see if RTM fixes things like MS promises.

  7. Hi TheJudge and Fieldhouse,
Keep us informed how the installs go.
