This looks like a nice piece! May have to consider it over the big tan boxes we all normally use…

  3. YMM says:

    Looks Good!
Apart from these 2 is there any other motherboards that support 4 SATA HDD’s and Gigabit LAN?

There is mention for Mini-DTX support.

GA-2761GXDK…no spec sheet but heres a pic

KD690-AM2 (mDTX) … spec sheet not available yet but its pretty much based on the KI690-AM2 referenced below. The only difference is the mDTX version includes an additional expansion slot.

Good find on the AMD motherboard, i was looking at the Jetway J9F2 (found here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200160741096&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010)

But it had things like HDMI etc that would never be needed. The AMD one seems perfect!

  7. Hi JohnCz and Nathan,
    Thanks for posting your findings.

  8. Bill says:

    Great find. Thanks.

  10. Nathan says:

Been searching high and low for someone that will stock this in the UK and yes you guessed it, not one so far!

Anyone else had any luck on finding someone in the UK?

  11. Hi Nathan,
Iv looked high and low for this in the UK and like you, no luck as yet.

  12. Bob Crook says:

The TranquilPC looks perfect for UK market. Anybody heard anything further about HP and any fanless systems?
    Bob, Littleton, Colorado, USA.

  13. Hi Bob Crook,
The HP system should be available in January 2008. As for fanless systems – Anyone?

  14. Nathan says:

Suppose you could build your own using a via mini-itx motherboard, some of them have fanless heatsinks. Infact, theres the nano-itx and pico-itx out now. the pico-itx motherboard is something like 10cm by 7cm. A complete midget board!

Dont think there are any pre-built ones available just yet.

  15. Nathan says:

Right, little update. I’ve found a company who can get these in the UK. They said there sales guy will be contacting me shortly.

So i’lll post back on here as soon as i hear from them!

    Yay!

  16. Hi Nathan,
A UK company – Great. Let us know.

  17. Yuko says:

I am looking at doing some home server installs in the UK and the case fits the bill nicely. I would be interested to find a UK distributer and price when you guys have the info.

    Thanks.

  18. Nathan says:

    The sales person still hasnt got back to me. The company i’m in contact with at the moment is;

    uk.insight.com

    Here’s the converstation i had with them;

(me) I’m trying to source a new case by chenbro, its the ES34069 ( http://usa.chenbro.com/corporatesite/products_detail.php?serno=97).
    Will you be stocking these?
(insight) Thank you for contacting Insight Technical Services.
I have passed this query onto our product management team and will advise further shortly.
(insight) I can now confirm that we are able to source these cases and will move this to our sales team who can advise on ordering.
(insight) thank you for your e-mail

  19. Nathan says:

Also noticed that the US sites are starting to get them on there sites, prices at around $250.

  20. Nathan says:

Yeah, i spotted those too. Shame there in the US.

  21. Hi Keith,
    Thanks for the link.

  22. Hi hotneutron,
    Thanks for the links.

  23. Nathan says:

Finally found somewhere that have them for pre-order in the UK (they will receive 50 of them early jan 08). I spoke to them about 10 minutes ago before pre-ordering mine. They said they had 12 pre-orders and they only went on yesterday. So if you want to get one, nows the time!!

  24. Hi Nathan,
    Well done. I want one!

  25. Dominik says:

    Hi,
I´ve been looking for this case here in germany the last week´s. Same Problem as in the UK. No Unit before January.
But there´s another part I´m a little afraid of – the
power-suppy. I calculated a little bit and choosed the
new EPIA SN18000G with 2GB Ram and 4 Barracuda ES (500GB).
According to the datasheets the System will need 202.2VA about 4 seconds after boot or standby during drive-spinup.
I asked the technical support of chenbro about that, but
    got no answer.
    Any ideas about that?

  26. Hi Dominik,
Wow – technical stuff. Have not a clue but any modern power supply unit will be absolutely fine. I have a cheap £15 power supply in my server (bad idea) but it handles 3x 320GB hard drives 1GB RAM, a DVD drive and an Intel 815 processor no problem at all.

  27. Hi Ben,
Thanks for the link. The UK has stock!!!
